Sounds familiar?
Most switches start the same way.
- Requests sit in a ticket queue for weeks
- Every small change comes back with an hourly estimate
- The store is a few Magento versions behind, and nobody has a plan to fix it
- The developer who knew your store has moved on
None of that means your store is a lost cause. Usually it means nobody has owned it for a while.
How the switch works
Five steps, and your store keeps trading.
- We look over your setup. Before we quote, we look over your module list, custom code, integrations and hosting at no cost. You get one fixed price for Foundation and your monthly plan before you pay anything.
- A word with your current agency. Where it helps, we ask them for context: known issues, odd decisions, anything that isn’t in the code. Ending that contract stays your decision and your conversation; we stay out of it.
- Foundation. Your code goes into a GitHub repository you own (we create one if there isn’t one). We set up your staging site and our own development environment, with no customer data, plus the release pipeline and a tested rollback. Then a plain-English audit: what’s wrong, what’s urgent, what can wait.
- The first fixes. Foundation includes 6 development tasks in the first 30 days, usually the things your old agency never got to. Each one is built through the SKU pipeline, our own AI-assisted system, reviewed by a senior developer and tested on staging before it goes live.
- Your monthly plan. From here you’re on Care, Partner or Partner Plus: patches, updates and monitoring every month, and on Partner and Partner Plus your backlog shipped for a fixed price. A one-page report arrives on the 1st of every month.
Your live store keeps trading. The setup happens on staging and in our own environment. Nothing changes on the live store until you’ve approved it, and every release goes out in an agreed window with a rollback ready.
Modern tools, senior judgement
Built with modern tools. Checked by a senior developer.
We build with AI coding tools inside the SKU pipeline, our own system for Magento and WordPress. Your changes go live sooner, and a fixed monthly price can include real development. The tools are half the job. The half that decides whether a change is right is done by a person.
What the SKU pipeline speeds up
- Reading your store’s code and config before a change
- Getting to a first working version
- Drafting tests and documentation
- Spotting what a change might affect
What a senior developer does, every time
- Agrees with you what “done” looks like
- Reviews every line and corrects what isn’t right
- Tests on your staging site and configures it properly
- Releases in an agreed window, with a rollback ready
- Answers when something breaks
What you keep
Everything we set up stays yours.
- The code, in a GitHub repository you own
- The audit, the staging site setup and the release pipeline, even if you leave
- Your hosting: most stores stay where they are and we work there
- Your freedom to leave: plans are monthly rolling, one month’s notice, no 12-month lock-in
What it costs
One fixed price to switch, then one a month.
Foundation is from £1,200 one-off, including 6 development tasks, or from £550 if you’re joining Care without the tasks. Then a monthly plan: Care from £585, Partner from £895 a month for your first 4 months and then from £1,150, or Partner Plus from £2,050. All prices + VAT.
Qaiser took over from our long term Magento developer a couple of years ago now, inheriting a fairly complex multistore installation with a lot of custom code, and a fair amount of long standing issues. Qaiser brought himself up to speed with our setup, Magento installation and websites very quickly, making what could have been a difficult transition seamless. He's very quick to respond to issues via multiple communication channels, and his knowledge of Magento is extremely impressive. Qaiser has also overseen complex Magento upgrades and integrations with our back office systems, including bespoke pricing solutions for our B2B. We're very grateful to have Qaiser on our team.
Where your budget goes
More of your budget goes into your store.
Budgets are tight for most UK businesses right now. You shouldn’t be paying for layers you never see.
No agency overheads
No account managers, sales team or big office in your price. You pay for senior development, not the layers around it.
You talk to the person doing the work
No briefing an account manager who briefs a junior. You speak to the senior developer who knows your store.
One fixed monthly price
No hourly billing and no surprise invoices. You know what the year costs before it starts.
Quoted before we start
Bigger jobs get a fixed price agreed first. If something turns out bigger, we stop and ask before it costs you more.
Our mistakes are on us
If a change we released breaks, we roll it back and fix it at no extra charge.
No lock-in, no exit fee
Monthly rolling, one month’s notice, and the code lives in a repository you own.
Questions about switching
No. You can talk to us before you say anything to them. When you’re ready, we ask them for context and access, and ending that contract stays your decision.
Usually we can still help. With hosting access we can normally recover the code and database, and we’ll advise on getting admin and third-party accounts back. If the store is broken as well, start with store rescue.
No. Your current agency doesn’t need to overlap with us, and nothing changes on the live store until you’ve approved it.
The 6 development tasks are cleared within the first 30 days. How quickly the setup itself is ready depends on the store, and we’ll tell you when we quote.
Almost always. If the audit finds something that puts the store at risk, we tell you plainly and fix it first, at a fixed price agreed with you. Once that’s done, critical issues like checkout failing or the site going down are fixed within the plan.
The audit shows how far behind it is. Catching up is quoted as a fixed-price upgrade. After that, Partner and Partner Plus include one major upgrade a year.
No. Most stores stay with their current host and we work there. If the host is the problem, moving it is quoted as a fixed-price project.
Yes. The repo, code and accounts are yours. Plans run monthly with one month’s notice, and we hand over configuration and workflow docs during that month.
